English club Sheffield United celebrated their promotion to the Premier League this week with a special jersey.

The club secured automatic promotion by finishing second in the EFL Championship this season with 91 points, 10 points behind first-place Burnley. They celebrated with a parade through the streets of Sheffield on Thursday, May 11, during which players wore the limited edition jerseys.

The shirts feature Sheffield United’s usual home kit motif of red and white vertical stripes, only this time with gold pinstripes running through each red stripe. A tonal rose pattern covers the front and back of the shirt, “paying homage to the rose of Yorkshire, the proud symbol that sits on our crest,” the club said on its website.

The crew neck collar and sleeve cuffs are black with gold trim. The club crest on the left chest is rendered in black and gold, while the logo of manufacturer Erreà is embroidered in gold on the right chest. The logo of sponsor Randox Health is rendered in black and gold on the chest.

“To commemorate [promotion to the Premier League], we have partnered with Erreà to design a shirt that embodies our journey to the Premier League this season: strength, elegance, determination, and the unwavering desire to succeed.”

Sheffield United’s 2022-23 home kit featured red and white vertical stripes with black stripes in between. The collar and sleeve cuffs were solid black, and there was no rose pattern on them.

Only 620 units of the celebration kit will be produced, and each will be individually numbered. They’re priced at £60 for adult sizes and £50 for youth sizes, and are only available through Sheffield United’s online shop.
