Vegas Golden Knights star Jack Eichel underwent successful lower-body surgery and is listed as week-to-week, the team announced Tuesday.
The forward missed his team’s last two games after suffering an injury Thursday against the Bruins.
“The latest update I got today is, he’ll miss a little bit of time,” coach Bruce Cassidy said Saturday after the morning skate at the team facility on Saturday. “But I don’t know how much time.”
Eichel, 27, has been stellar for the Golden Knights this season, leading them in goals with 19 and tied at the top with Mark Stone in points, with 44, in 42 games.
The defending champion Golden Knights are in somewhat of a slump of late, winning only four of their last 10, but still sit second in the Pacific Division with a 25-14-5 record.
Eichel joins a growing list of Golden Knights set to miss time, with goaltender Adin Hill, centre William Karlsson, winger William Carrier and defenceman Shea Theodore all dealing with injuries of their own.
