With the Golden Globes 2024, awards show season is in full swing. On Sunday, the biggest names in Hollywood and beyond flocked to the Beverly Hilton to honor the best in film and television during the 81st Golden Globe Awards. While it was business as usual on the Golden Globes 2024 red carpet as glamour returned for yet another year in the form of dazzling gowns, sharp suiting, and sparkling accessories, things looked a little different behind the scenes. After the Hollywood Foreign Press Association disbanded in June 2023, Dick Clark Productions and Eldridge Industries took over the show, which has a new broadcast home on CBS (the ceremony will also stream on Paramount+) and has implemented an expanded voting body to decide who takes home a statuette. But despite all the changes that happened off camera, the Golden Globes 2024 red carpet still remains the place for stars to kick off the awards circuit in style.

One of the biggest trends of the evening matched the carpet itself with stars donning bold red hues. Florence Pugh, Heidi Klum, Alma Pöysti, Rachel Brosnahan, Julianne Moore and Ayo Edebiri all wore scarlet gowns while Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Barry Keoghan, John Krasinski opted for varying shades of maroon, burgundy and the like.

Another popular look on Sunday? Winter white. Andrew Scott wore a white-on-white ensemble, pairing his snowy tux with a white top, and Riley Keough, Lily Gladstone, Elizabeth Olsen, Natasha Lyonne, and Elle Fanning all opted for various milky shades.

As for the nominees, Barbie, Greta Gerwig’s box office smash that became the highest-grossing film of 2023, lead the pack with nine nominations across a number of categories, while Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer earned eight, and Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon earned seven. Meanwhile, competition was tough for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture—Musical or Comedy, with Fantasia Barrino (The Color Purple), Jennifer Lawrence (No Hard Feelings), Natalie Portman (May December), Alma Pöysti (Fallen Leaves), Margot Robbie (Barbie), and Emma Stone (Poor Things) all nominated with Stone taking home the award. On the small screen, Succession, which ended its four-season run in May, earned nine nominations in drama, while The Bear and Only Murders in the Building earned five nominations each. But no matter who won, there was plenty of award-worthy fashion from all the attendees.
