Released just over a week ago, Alice Auer shines as bright as a reminiscent sparkle as she brings us into an unforgettable jazz atmospheric world where she delves into her first date with her boyfriend, in this music masterpiece, titled “Greek Street”. This follows up her “Daydreaming” EP released in April 2022.

Alice Auer is a British singer-songwriter from the city of Battle near Hastings (Battle is where the actual battle of Hastings took place), but she now lives in London. She is one of the rising artists in the world who is bringing jazz music to the mainstream, going on to prove that this is in her nature as she’s managed to get over 10 million streams for her music across streaming platforms. She’s been gaining popularity quickly, making her name known in the music scene, especially in the last couple of years. Collaborating with Conor Albert on the “Smile” EP allowed her to increase her followers and led to Justin Bieber giving her a shout-out, as well as sharing the stage with Nia Archives and ELIZA. Her collaborations with Conor Albert are her most-streamed tracks on Spotify, with “Forget”, “See You”, and “Crazy He Calls Me” being her top streamed tracks at 3.7 million, 2.8 million, and 1.5 million, respectively, on the platform. In turn, her solo tracks have gained momentum, with hundreds of thousands of streams each, and although her latest track, “Greek Street”, has just recently been released, it’s continuing to gain momentum too. She’s certainly someone we all should be keeping our eyes and ears on.

Written by Alice Auer and James Smith, whilst it has been produced by Conor Albert, “Greek Street” is a laid-back jazz track that has an alternative acoustic vibe to it that really highlights Alice Auer’s beautifully sweet vocals. Reminiscing about her first date at a jazz event, inviting the listener in and taking us right to that place, inside that world, as the narrator thinks back to that time and wishes to return to it. Full of passion and heart, Alice Auer sings effortlessly and the words of the lyrics are just pure magic. She really is destined for greatness and her lovely jazz energy is something we all need a bit of in our lives.

Talking about the track, Alice Auer said: “I wrote ‘Greek Street’ in a day with my lovely friend and very talented musician/producer, James Smith. Story-wise, Greek Street was inspired by the first date my boyfriend and I went on together, at Jazz After Dark in Soho, London. I wanted to create some contrast in the song emotionally and musically, so we wrote the lyrics from the perspective of someone who had that relationship, that experience, that romance – but lost it and longs to have it back. We then took the bones of the song to Conor and let him work his magic.”
